Apple Pie

Ingredients:
6 cups apples - Granny Smith or Honeycrisp
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons flour
1 pie crust - store-bought or homemade
1 egg
Instructions:
Prepare Apples: Peel and slice apples. Toss with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour.
Prepare Crust: Roll out a pie crust and place in a 9-inch pie pan. Fill with the apple mixture.
Top Pie: Roll out a second crust, cut into strips for a lattice pattern or cover with the second crust. Cut slits for steam to escape. Brush with egg wash.
Bake: Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes, then reduce to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-40 minutes until apples are tender and crust is golden.
